Dog Obedience Training, with Dove Cresswell: A Review of Her Online Video |

I must admit I was decidedly cynical when I saw that this online dog training video was going to cover basic obedience training in only 12 minutes. But I ended up impressed with how much information actually was presented. Like most of the videos in this series, this one is a combination of still photos, Dove's lively voice, and words on the screen.
I was less thrilled when she advocated using a choke chain, but she did cover how to use it and how not to. This video covers sit, down, and (as shown) stay. She gives two different ways to teach the sit and the down, explaining why the first methods are preferable. All the material in this online program is for both puppies and adult dogs. figured she would start right out with the sit. Not so. She began with
a very good discussion of how to train in general. I liked this
a lot, including her comments on the timing of lessons.
