Since both your dogs are Great Danes, I would go find a good forum for that breed and post your question there.

Also, you could try varying the food in case that's the problem.

A vet check with a more holistic type vet might come up with something.

They still need your love while you work on this! (Just not kisses at present!)

Patti, I would have to wonder if they are missing nutrients in the food you feed them.

Debbie, we had this problem once when we were gone for a month and the house-sitter acted like your little grandkids. It took a good bit of pointedly ignoring our dogs before they gave up on us.

This is completely natural opportunistic behavior for a dog and your sweet dog is still right there, just showing you a side of her personality you hadn't seen before.

I'd say get the grandkids involved, even if they are really young. Hey, they will likely enjoy telling her NO.

For more ideas, try a dog training forum. Here is a page where I discuss two of them:

I have a 3 yr old Golden Retriever. She is very well behaved normally, but... My little grandchildren gave her some people food when I wasn't looking. Now she thinks it easy pickens and can snatch food from them. I detest this kind of behavior, but I don't know how to break her of this nasty trait. The kids like to eat outside at their little picnic table. When they are eating bring the dog inside, but the minute we let her out, she runs right to the table and begins looking for crumbs (even to the point of putting her feet up on the table). It's very bothersome and I just want my sweet well behaved dog back. Can you help me with any suggestions?
Thanks, Debbie
