Dog Training with Distractions Outside

Have you ever tried to practice dog training, with something that you KNOW your dog knows but he’s acting like he has no idea what to do? Well, this can happen in many circumstances, but a common one is when you’ve trained the behavior in one place and then you ask for it in another. That’s what I talk about here.

Thanks, Rosana. I enjoyed your talk and it’s a good reminder that dogs are easily distracted in a different environment; their sensory awarenesses encompasses so much more than ours; it can be difficult to remember that our dogs are processing more information than we are, particularly outdoors.
