The Best Clicker Training Website on the Net
Dogs often learn very quickly when you use a clicker, because they are being shown when they do what you want, rather than being punished or scolded when they do things you don’t want!
My dog training tip for today is to suggest that you go take a look at the best clicker training website on the net. It belongs to Karen Pryor, whose groundbreaking book Don’t Shoot the Dog got many of us dog people interested in clicker training our dogs. (I was llama ranching when the book came out, and wondered about applying the methods to llamas. Later, other people did, but by then I didn’t have llamas any more.)
The site isn’t a one-person project like mine, though: she’s got a publishing company, books and downloadable ebooks, videos you can watch on the site, and much more. It isn’t just dogs either: cats, horses, rabbits, and probably other animals are discussed too. Here’s a link to the Clicker training homepage.
And this takes you to the page for a dog clicker training kit which would make a great gift.
